low A/C or compressor dead
low A/C or compressor dead
I know this is the right place or even the right type of vehicle but I need some help.
My wife's van is not producing cold air. I bought 3 cans to refill it but after following the directions and waiting for what I thought was long enough for one can. Well the can still feels full and still has contents and no A/C.
Can someone give me some advice on what to look for or maybe I am doing the refill wrong.
Can was setup, started car A/C full, took L cap off and attached turned can upside down and opened.
Thanks for your help

could be a number of things, i bet its the ac compressor motor, if that goes out, or the belt goes out, it will blow air just not cold air, well in most cases hot air because the air is being sucked from the hot engine bay. try that man
If the compressor completely fails, you'll usually know it; either it'll blow refrigerant out through the front seal, or it'll sound like hell, rattling and knocking or whatnot. Sometimes they can be perfectly quiet, you won't know that they've failed without reading pressures.
So, the compressor goes CLICK! when you turn the A/C on? On the front of the compressor, does the entire clutch assembly turn with the compressor? The triangular shaped plate on the front spins with the belt driven pulley? If so, does it stay running, or does it run for a little bit, then CLICK!, stops, then runs for a little, stops, etc.? If the compressor runs steadily without cycling on and off, you may have a control component problem, like a stuck temperature door or a bad blend door motor. I say may, because normally if there's enough refrigerant in the system to keep the compressor running, there's enough refrigerant for some cold air, albeit kinda halfassed cold air. But there always is an exception...
