Lubrication
Lubrication
I have, proudly, a 2003 F 150 King Ranch SCrew 4x2 w/the 5.4l engine. I do the oil changes myself and follow the preventative maintenace schedule.
Just noticed that the manual mentions to lubricate the ball joints for "light trucks" 4x2's. But the problem is that aside from one grease fitting on the steering linkage, I see no other grease fittings on the ball joints.
Am I misreading the preventative maintenace schedule or missing something.
Appreciate advice.

There are zerk fittings on the idler arm and that's it. The other components are sealed and if you eventually want to lubricate them, you inject grease through the rubber dust boots with a "needle-style" grease gun fitting.
