Good By King Ranch
It is with great sorrow that I am saying good by to the King Ranch. In yesterdays thunderstorms and high winds (60+mph up to 90mph on some areas) my poor truck got confused as to whether the tires belonged up top or down on the ground. Unfortunately it chose wrong and ended up tires to the sky. Luckily for me and my 5month old daughter, we walked out with out a scratch. I would say that is a true testament to the safety of the F-150 super crew line of trucks. I must also say that I’m sure glad I did not win that tonneau cover a few weeks ago. I hope to again be a proud King Ranch owner in the future. On a good note though, I am going to take a King Ranch Expedition for a spin this weekend. There is no way I can afford it right now even with the x-plan, but maybe ’07. Ya’ll have a good one.

Holy cow man... I'm so thankful that you and your daughter are okay. That must have been traumatic.
Best of luck in getting everything taken care of and please let us know if we can help out in any way/shape/or form. Also, don't be a stranger. Feel free to drop in anytime...

Thanks for the concern RP. We talked to the adjusters today and they are saying that it's not going to be totaled. They have it valued at 29k. But, I'm concered about both driving a vehichle that has had 16k+ worth of repairs and about the loss of my trade-in value down the road if they do fix it. Dose any one have any insight into how I should handel the situation and how insurance laws read in N. Carolina.
VERY glad to hear that yo and your daughter made it out safely.
As far as resale, I'm pretty sure that it will be affected. If I'm not mistaken, if a vehicle has repairs equal to or more than 25% of it's value, it is reported and will be traceable to your VIN number.

I was afraid of that. I would think that a roll-over would greatly reduce the resale value. I also need to contact my extended warrenty folks to see if this effects my warrenty at all. It would just suck for the insurance company to fix it and then 3 months down the road start having engine problem or something that I know is related to the accident but have the warrenty folks tell me its been voided due to an accedient.
Well, sounds like she's going to get repaired. I have talked enough with the body shop and others to feel somewhat assured that it is only body damage and the frame and engine should have no problems. My extended warrenty will also not be effected (although I can just hear the problems if it starts having engine problems two months down the road). I'l keep my fingers crossed that all works out well and I can get out of the Dodge Ram I'm renting soon.
I would be talking to an attorney [I hate them too, but you need one here to protect your a$$]. There are attorneys that specialize in "diminished value" of your vehicle that is wrecked extensivly. I'd be at least checking on it.
When you go to sell/trade that truck a good appraiser/gearhead will be able to tell that it has had LOTS of body repair.
Just my $.02
