'01 KR Saddle Bags

Howdy! I am brand spankin' new to the forum. I just found you guys yesterday and I have had trouble getting any work done since then. I have had my KR for a year and this place seems to be made up of a bunch of cracked nuts just like me. Anyway, when I bought the truck (3 yrs old, 36k off of lease) the saddle bags were both messed up. I am not sure how to describe it other than one side of each bag was off of its 'track'. Anyone out there know an easy way to fix this? It has been driving me crazy for a year and after finding this site I am sure if anyone knows a solution it is you guys.

Cracked nuts ?!

Of course we know the answer.....it's been discussed several times in the past.

Now....about the fee ......

RP prefers a sub to his favorite porno mag.

Mike just prefers beer.......lots of it.

Me .... I'll make do with a meal at Mortons Of Chicago.

As for the rest I'll leave them to make their own individual offers.

Seriously....I think I DO remember this being discussed a long while ago so I'll leave our chief researcher to come up with the goods.

RP..... that's you !!!

Porno Mags huh? I prefer DVDs now!

Anyway, I know exactly what you're referring to as I commonly had the problem as well. The first time I had the dealership take care of it and then, from there, I did it on my own.

The best word of advice I can give you is 'patience'. If you take your time and start at the top of the rail and work downward, you can fix it yourself. The plastic rail on the flap and the plastic rail on the main portion of the rail fit together in a 'latch-like' fashion. Short of that, I'm not sure what to tell you.

I did discover that mine was coming apart because my seat was all the way back and I was using the rear seat in the folded position often. Once the headrest was removed, the seat pushed on the back of the driver's seat causing the rails to become separated.

I hope that helps a bit. I know it's not a definitive answer but, it's about the best I can do.

RP

Thanks for the tips RP. I will try that this afternoon.

On another topic...I have noticed in several different 'galleries' a kickazz window sticker. Where can I get one of those? How do I join the IKROC? I also read about t-shirts/hats/towels...I'm in. Just let me know where to send the money!

Glad I could help... Hopefully you'll get it quick. It can be a royal pain in the rump to get it back on there.

As for the KROC, it's somewhat dormant right now and I don't know of any additional stickers floating around. There may be someone here that would sell you one of their extras (as most bought multiples).

I've thought pretty seriously about trying to spearhead another shirt buy...

I'm just not sure that the interest is there. Not sure about the hats, t-shirts, and towels. Maybe someone is using the IKRFTOC logo without express written consent?

RP, you forgot to mention the $500 joining fee and new member initiation. New members have to buy all the existing members one modification/enhancement for his/her truck.

How could you forget to mention this? You're slacking...

Ahh yes... the enrollment fee. I totally forgot and I'm not sure why...

Please make all checks payable to me.
