Rockpick -

Just got back from a semi-local dealer's lot where I looked at an 05 KR in Dark Stone. (The only F-150 KR on about 10-12 lots in this area.) Color's Ok but not great. The interior is magnificant! The truck had aluminum wheels with the KR center cap but no accent color. I see in your picture your wheels seem to have Arizona Beige spokes. Do they or is that just the lighting? Are there different wheel options for the 05 model year?

Very Nice! Congratulations!

I wouldn't do any mods to that truck, it's perfect. I sure would like to have those folding mirrors on my Lariat

Again, I waited until late in the day to take some pictures and thus, they’re a tad on the dark side but, this will have to do for now. Naturally, I’ve been out there most all of the day detailing it (as I wouldn’t let the lot monkeys touch it for delivery).

Z-plan pricing is incredible and, really, the only reason that I went ahead and moved on this truck. It’s something I’ve been eyeballing for several weeks now and finally got the nerve up to move forward with it.

So, from here… ON WITH THE PICTURES!

This is the truck… Black on Arizona Beige 2005 King Ranch F-150 SuperCrew

Here’s the front end… it’s trimmed in Arizona Beige as well…

The rear end… with reverse sensing…

Center console…

Steering Wheel… Fully wrapped in Castano Leather…

Well, there she is…

So far, I’m INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with this truck. The ride quality is not even in the same league as my 2001 King Ranch. My wife is far from being a ‘vehicle person’ and that was one of her first comments while we were test driving it. The interior luxuries are SO much nicer on this truck versus the 2001. Even the dash says King Ranch and is backlit to really make it schnazzy. The flow-through center console is long since over due from Ford. This REALLY makes the truck look top notch in my opinion but, I wish I had more interior storage room. The center console and glove box are the only two compartments within the passenger compartment. I further wish that the flow through had map holders or similar like the late model Expedition center consoles had. That area would work better with a touch of functionality. The power folding side view mirrors are very nice. With a smaller garage, the ability to be able and tap a switch and have them fold in is priceless. Further, with the mirrors in, I honestly think I have just a touch MORE room within my garage. I’m not sure of the exact dimensions on this truck versus that of my late 01 but, I sincerely feel like I have more room.

My first mod is going to be an ARE LSII lid (it was figured in on the deal). That is due to come in around November 25th and thus, I’m very anxious to have that on the truck. I decided not to go with another Astro Platinum lid (like my 01 had) because of a few quality issues that I began to notice after having it on my truck.

Feel free to fire any questions that you may have. Also, thanks to everyone who has put up with and helped out with my recent barrage of questions. I love this truck and see myself behind the wheel for a long while to come!

Again best of luck. The rest of us non 05 KR owners will just sit here and drool, thank you very much.

Great truck, RP. Sorry to see another original KR get traded in but now someone will have a chance to own your original Pride and Joy.

So did you and your better half get those new seamless, cleanroom jumpsuits embroidered with the Running W yet?

What do you plan to keep the leather "fit" with?

And were their any Ford "gifts" with the truck?

Again - congratulations on the 2005 King Ranch - and in Black !!!

Congrats on your new KR, Rock...if anyone can keep a "Black" one clean, it's you. I hate to see another "Chestnut" taken out, but, hopefully the next owner will appreciate what he/she has!

Well RP, you did it. I knew once you started test driving it you wouldn't hold out long. Congrats and enjoy it. Things like this are what we work so hard for anyway. Work and the like things in our lives somehow have a way of working out. Again congrats!
