King ranch exp?

I know this could be considered a double post, but I posted it in a thread that doesn't move.

When is the king ranch exp supose to come out? Where can I find more info about it?

There's VERY little information out there about it at the moment the best I can see and I'm not sure that there's been a definite word from Ford on when they're going to roll them off the line.

Sorry I don't have any better answers...

Like RP said, there's not much info. out there.

Here's a pertinent paragraph from a Ford press release.
King Ranch Family Introduces a New Thoroughbred
Customers looking for the top breed of vehicle now have even more choices. Showgoers attending the State Fair of Texas will be the first to see Ford's expanded King Ranch lineup. Special editions of the F-150 and Super Duty already carry the famed King Ranch pedigree. Now, the Expedition King Ranch joins the King Ranch stable for 2005.

"The Expedition King Ranch is a natural extension of the successful and appealing King Ranch family of vehicles," said Christine Feuell, Ford Division SUV Group Marketing Manager. "It offers a great combination of ruggedness and luxury, as well as all of the functionality and capability that customers have come to expect from the Expedition. The State Fair of Texas is an ideal place to introduce this exciting new SUV, because the Expedition King Ranch was designed with Texans in mind."

The new Expedition King Ranch features the signature genuine Castano leather interior, a genuine wood steering wheel and wood appliqué accents added to the doors and instrument panel grab handle. The interior package also includes the class-exclusive PowerFold™ third row seat as standard equipment. The exterior's rugged good looks include unique 17-inch wheels, featuring a painted finish with the King Ranch logo on the center cap. The distinctive Pueblo Gold two-tone exterior, with Pueblo Gold step bars, recalls western landscapes and wide-open spaces.

As part of the 2005 Expedition lineup, the King Ranch edition also features a new 3-valve 5.4L engine that delivers 300 hp and 365 pound-feet of torque, as well as improved fuel economy and emissions. Other available class-leading features include AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™, Safety Canopy™ System, Reverse Sensing System and power-adjustable pedals.

Expedition King Ranch begins production at the Michigan Truck Plant during the fourth quarter this year.

Thanks.

That was the same thing I seen. I knew it had a time on it I just couldn't remember when or where I seen it.

When is the fourth quarter?

I expect there will be another press release when they actually do start rolling off the line.

I wonder how much KR package will make the price jump? It sure does look nice. Although I figured they would make the outside stand out alittle more.

Not sure on the price but, if Lenny will poke his head in here, he might be able to shed a bit more light on the situation as he has dibs on the first one in Texas...

Also, I know someone here had scanned a brochure that they had obtained at the Texas State Fair recently that was specifically for the KR Expy.

Nice!

None of the dealers around here know anything about it. They just give me that look.

The wife is wanting something nice and different and we are running out of Fords! She likes the Mustang but it's only two door. The 500 drives nice but, I think it's going to be ford new rental car. Therefore they will flood the market every 3 months and value will fall like a rock. Had an Excursion limited. Nice, very nice. Down fall, to big. Wife wouldn't drive it and to much money for me to be blowing up engines in! We have owned all the others to. So it's looking like the Kr or else a Volvo or Acura. Rather have the Ford!

Sorry...I've been in the Emerald Isle for a few days seeing the sights of Cork, Blarney, and south west Ireland.

As soon as I'm sober I'll re read the posts and try to give a sensible answer !!

Right...back "with it" now !

The time wasn't so much to sober up...though we did visit the Beamish Brewery in Cork. ( Look out for Beamish...a dark Stout like Guinness, and should be Stateside in the near future, if not already).
As I said the time was more to deal with mail and all the things that inevitably go wrong in my absence !

Having said all that I really can't offer much more than the excellent links and information that JohnAndDar and Rock have already offered.

As Rock said I have been offered the first KR Expy that will arrive at my usual dealers....I have been able to order it to my spec. without having to commit to buy it. They will use it as a demo if I don't take it up.
Pricing is not available just yet but I would expect from what I can gather unofficially that it will be around the price of a 'limited'.

I have been told to expect delivery towards the end of February.

However please bear in mind that dealers often know nothing near as much as we do about forthcoming models.
They are expected to get on with the business of promoting and selling current stock without worrying about what's round the corner.
Had they not known about my knowledge of KR's over the last 4 years (mainly garnered from this website I might add....) they might not have taken me so seriously when I told them a couple of months ago that a KR Expy was on the way.

As it was, when the dealer principal got the preliminary info on it a couple of weeks or so ago, all they could say was....
"He's right again !!"

Now while that does my ego a power of good, it all comes back to this site and someone mentioning a few months ago that they had seen Expy seats in Castano leather.
We all put 2 and 2 together and made 136.....fortunately it was quite correct !

I just seen that the msrp on the KR Expy is going to be $3000 more than the EB. I thought this would be helpful. It was posted on the dealer web site

To add another thought to it. I wonder if they will only offer it in the short expy only. I figure 06 they would shoot the Excursion and start up with the stretched expy. Then again I think they will wait till 07 so they can put the diesel in. (just my theory)

I'm sorry I'm getting to far ahead!

They talked about doing that for 05 to directly compete with the Denali and Denali XL but, it didn't happen. Also, it seems like I heard a rumor that they were going to do some sort of extended Explorer? Maybe that was malarky though... who knows.
