A Plan or X Plan question
A Plan or X Plan question
Hi all...
I think some of you know we have friends visiting from the UK.
They are looking to buy a Ford and will be entitled to one of these plans by virtue of a son working in the industry in the UK.
What we don't know is the scale of discounts available.
Is there any way to know roughly what would apply on ....for sake of arguement ....a 30K vehicle ?
Thanks.
(PS The order forms were released today for the KR Expedition......my dealer has offered for me to order one to spec. even if I later decide not to take it up.)
(PPS...Is there any way on this earth for ME to get a Pin number ??)
Cheers
Lenny

I'm far from an expert on this but, if you'll do some searching here at f150online, you'll find a plethora of information...
Here's what I know...
A-Plan/Z-Plan (same price) is available to immediate family of folks that work for Ford and many of their subsideraries (like Visteon).
X-Plan is going to cost more than A/Z and is pretty easy to come by; in fact, I often read about folks that are getting their vehicles BELOW X-plan thus, it's really not that big of a steal in many instances.
Outside of that, I'm useless. I know I'm Z-Plan though through my step-father-in-law.

Hello Lenny,
I can throw in my 2 cents worth as well. From what I know, invoice for an F150 is around 12% below MSRP. Invoice includes the dealer's hold back which is around 3% of the MSRP. X plan is around 0.2% lower than the invoice price. A/Z/D plan pricing is around 3.5% less than invoice pricing because the hold back money is thrown in to sweeten the deal. The percentages discussed here are for trucks only, they are different for every kind of vehicle, SUVs and sedans are not the same. Sedans have discounts that don't vary much between invoice, MSRP, X Plan or A/Z/D plan like trucks do. There are some other monies that are involved with a sale, FDAF/LMDA Assessment as well as dealer financing costs and don't forget that all vehicle sales must include the $795 Destination and Delivery cost that is above and beyond any discounts mentioned.
That's what I think I know
I'm sure someone will come along and correct me, hehe.

Dave and I were just discussing something like this last night on MSN... Doesn't seem too far fetched does it?

I have already ordered my truck but yesterday I told the sales rep that I was getting a X plan pin/code. He said that he is going to give me the truck for invoice and that is a better deal than the X plan.
Is this true.
Thanks
