Nice truck, I like the clean look of remving the 4x4 decal on the rear quarter!

I am about to get new tires, are those BFG AT? I was looking at the Bridgestone Duelers, but the side wall letters are huge.

How does the KN filter charger work?

Very clean truck!

You and me both. Of course it's a personal preference but, in my opinion, that sticker looks pretty awful. Removing it cleans up that quarter in a HUGE way.

Thanks guys,
Yes they are BFG AT KO, 285 70 R17's, I too was looking at the Duelers but was not able to find the R17's in a 285 only the 265.
About the decal being removed, well it was like that when I bought it. I was going to try an order one to replace it but the solid / clean look grew on me. I am not alot flash kind of guy. Although I did put my KROC sticker on the back under the third tail light.
The K&N was on prior as well, and seeing how this was / is my first ford truck I don't have much to compare it to. (drove a Dodge Dakota untill this nice lady decided she wanted to go through my front end head on) It seems to have enough power when I punch it, and the gibson exhust system has nice growl to it when you get on it, but stays pretty low key when you don't.
I have noticed that there is a whistel or whine from the K&N when you let off the gas. Kind of like the motor lets off the noise and you can hear the air still coming through. This an 2001, and the only real problem I have had is with the drivers seat back not latching and the back pannel coming undone. Maybe I should just super glue the thing shut
Thanks agin for the comments, I really need to put a coat of wax on the King before winter gets here.
(Yeah right, winter in Central Texas I know what you all will say)
Have a good one.

Nice truck, KoR. I wanted a chestnut badly but got one of the rarest of the bunch, '03 Black. Thanks for the info [everyone] on the K&N. I'm getting ready to put that system in and didn't know about the "whistle." Also, I think Gibson exhausts are the way to go from what everyone comments about them. I like the idea of having a low noice except for during accel.

I don't know if I've ever said this in public but, I think I like the black KR just as much, if not better, than a chestnut.

Yeah, I remember when I bought her November 1, 2003 and a lot of y'all were lovin' the black color. I believe it was unique to 2003, was it not? I've yet to see a black KR on the road. I tell you though, that Chestnut is beautiful.

Yep. Only 2003. I can count the number of Black KRs that I've seen on one hand. I love that truck!!

Does the K & N save any for gas mileage?

Word on the street is that it's VERY nominal (if any).
