Thumbs up How's this for a deal?

Couple of weeks ago I was at my dealer having the oil changed, (OK no snickers, it just seems that I never have any time anymore, especially with the upcoming move the wife and I are making), and low and behold I got talking to the service manager and he tells me he has a brand new Arizona Beige tonneau cover for a supercrew. Seems he had ordered one for a fellow KRer and when it came in it didn't have the logo on it. The other guy wanted the logo so this has been sitting in his back room for almost two years, still new in the box, never been put on the truck, while he ordered another one for the other guy. So I talk to the owner, he's the guy I buy from, small town dealership, great service, anyway, and I talk him in to giving it to me for $200. Is this a steal or what? Only bad thing is I just bought a black one a couple of months ago because you couldn't get the Arizona Beige anymore from Ford. OH well, I still think I'm going to buy anyway just because it's such a great deal. What do yall think of that? Good deal or what?

I'd buy it. Sounds like a deal to me. Afriend just bought an ARE for his '04 and it was 900. So 200 is good in my book as long as it ain't warped.

Ahh, that would explain it.

That does sound like a good deal. I was aware that they made that particular tonneau but I've never actually seen one. Here in Louisville (and surroundings), I've seen two KRs with the actual KR tonneau (w/logo) (mine and another one I see nearly daily). I'd bet it'll look good on your truck. I'm still kicking around the idea about doing something different though. Dunno.

I've heard various people have problems with the back end coming undone and flapping around. Don't know what makes that happen or if it just isn't tight enough, but something else to consider.

I've had no such problems as of yet... although, I heard similar instances with this product but only the HD version (which is identical to the KR one but it's obviously black with a HD logo).

OK, so I put the new cover on my truck today. I will snap a couple of pics when I get a second. The wife and I are in the middle of moving and I'm not even sure where my digital camera is. I like the look of the new cover and it fits better than the TEKSTYLE that I had. I will report any issues that I may run into, but as of right now, I like it.

IL6fan -- BTW, I am elated tonight, Mark Martin won today after a long 73 race dry spell. I am a Martin fan thru and thru and to see him break the chain of no wins was awesome today. He is where my F150 handle comes in, I live in IL, and am a huge 6 fan. Sorry all but had to gloat a little for the man.
