Need rear captains chairs, TRADE??

I have a 2003 F150 Supercrew King Ranch which currently has a rear bench seat. I am looking to trade my bench seat or purchase the rear captains chairs from another King Ranch owner.

The reason why I am in need of captains chairs is because I am in the process of having a stereo system installed in my truck. The idea is to have a custom center console that runs the entire length of the truck to house two 12" subwoofers. I currently have a custom box underneath the rear seat but there is insuficient room under the seat.

Any ideas??

You can't interchange the seats the bolts will not match up. Several have looked into this but the holes for trucks with the bench will not match up for the buckets and vise versa.

Anything is possible with the necessary amount of money and resources...

It will, however, be a daunting task as the bolt patterns are very different. Further, safety issues will be a very prevalent concern for the safety concioius...

I am still interested in trading. Does anyone know what is involved in converting the truck?

You would have to have new holes drilled for the seats and probably the seat belts, and in order to be done safely, I would have it done by a professional who has done custom seat installations before. It is probably going to be costly for both parties involved, as they are nowhere near a straight swap out. It may be easier to trade in your truck for one with buckets. You will probably make out with less money out of pocket that way.

Rockpick pegged it (given enough time and money....).

That said, I hope you can pull it off by either repacing the seat or swapping vehicles (whatever is best for you). I might be a tad biased, but I think 4 captains chairs is the way to go.

Of course my kids are grown and so I really don't have a need for a rear bench.

Good luck!

Dave...
