Lightbulb KR owners, lend me your ideas...

OK guys, I'd like to get some of your ideas.

I bought my 2003 KR SCrew because I was attracted to the features of the KR. Had I wanted an L or a Harley (both very worthy vehicles), I would have bought an L or a Harley. So now when I look at options to make my KR more unique, it seems like I have a myriad of ways to make it look more like an L or a Harley. This is exactly what I don't want.

So far, aside from a backup camera and mud guards, I have done nothing more than Acetoning the Badges and Adding Altezza Tails, which seemed to complement the Black/Arizona beige color scheme.

I know that I have some mechanical mods that I can (and eventually will) undertake. But right now I'm looking for ideas on appearance mods that would enhance the King-Ranchness of the truck. Perhaps some Texian or southwestern ideas. It's a daily driver so spending the kid's inheritence on a mural paint job is probably not practical.

Thanks for taking the time to read the post.

Dave

I'm kind of an apperance guru myself but, I think the mods that I've done to the exterior might not be up your alley after reading your description and such...

I installed Sylvania Xenarc headlights and Lightning Corner lights. The more I look, at them the more I like them... I think they're a great look on the front end personally...

Also, I made custom FORD badges for my truck which are color keyed to match the truck. The front badge is Chestnut...

And the rear is AZ Beige...

Both turned out REALLY well and I'm very proud of both. I get compliments ALL THE TIME about the emblems and have even made a couple of sets for some buddies here locally. It's a VERY simple mod that just requires some patience. I'd be happy to link you to the 'how-to' if you're interested at some point in time.

I've also added a KR tonneau cover that has REALLY grown on me. At first, I wasn't sure I liked it but, as time has progressed, I've really grown to appreciate how it looks...

(sorry for the crappy pic)

....

As far as exterior modifications, I believe that's about it for me. Personally, I love the look of the KR from an asthetics standpoint bone stock. I think that the special two-tone paint, wheels, and running boards (for those of us who have the boards) make the truck look very unique 'as-is'.

I'm sure some other folks have some ideas that might bump you along as well... those are mine though... More pics in my galleries (link in sig line).

G'LUCK!

RP...

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to Line-X the bed tomorrow and am adding clear corners with those silver to yellow bulbs. There may be a lid in my future, but not right away.

I really do like what you did with your badges. Since my KR is black over beige, Black badges would probably look good, but I'm still thinking about it. Maybe I'll get a couple spares and play around for a while.

How about doing the spray in liner in AZ beige. Also I painted the tailgate hande to match the body color.
