87 octane

Can I use 87 octane fuel in the KR 5.4? I have a Lightning and have to run 93. I love my L but need more room. Thinking about getting the KR. How does the interior quality compare to the Land Rover. Have owned many Land Rovers but got tired of the high cost of repairs.

87 is all I've ever used in my 5.4. (2002 F150 King Ranch Scab)

I can't answer the full extent of your question as I have only sat in a Land/Range Rover twice in my life (and once was a rental). I can, however, attest for the quality of the King Ranch Castano Leather and how it's held up for me over the past 3 years.

In short, my leather looks nearly as good today as it did when I drove it off the dealership lot. Of course, I've taken VERY good care of the interior as I respect the need for cleaning and conditioning on a fairly frequent basis. Unlike the leather inside the Land Rover, the King Ranch Castano is NOT clearcoated. This means that there is nothing between you and the leather.... this also means that the first time you drip coffee or spill a soft-drink, it's going to soak in almost immediately. This may be something for you to consider...

Overall, I have ZERO complaints out of my interior. I had one bit of trouble with the steering wheel but, it was remedied with a simple warranty trip to the dealership.

In my opinion, the King Ranch Edition puts the Ford SuperCrew into another level of 'nice'. If this is something that you think you like and something that you'll be able to devote a few hours per month to keeping it up, I don't think you'll be disappointed. On the other hand, if you don't have that time or the desire to do it, your interior will end up looking pretty rough. I've seen several on ebay and other places that have been neglected and look absolutely awful.

It's a labor of love.

Oh yeah, welcome to f150online.com!! We're glad to have you aboard! Keep us informed on your purchasing decision!

You'll love the KR F250...I know I love mine. The octane recomended for the engine is 87 octance. It should be the same on the 5.4 as I have the 6.8 v10

The KR F-150 owners manual specifies 87 octane for the 5.4. I use it and have plenty of passing power.

87 octane. Anything else is a waste.
