Welcome to the crew shnrbckman.

I had a good look at an '04 Oxford White KR F250 in San Diego a couple of weeks back parked across from a place called "The Bitter End" It was a sweet piece of truck!

Hey Rockpick,

I was at Rimbey Ford today inRimbey Alberta a half hour drive for me. Theres a 04 Estate Green F-350 Long Box Crew Cab Diesel there, That is one sweet truck. On the option Sheet it was missing the moonroof for some reason though, Does the one you were looking at have the moon roof?

I found precisely what I wanted in the F-250 flavor but, I think I'm going to hold off...

Simply put, it's just too much truck for me and, after purchasing the house, I can't justify the funding at the moment. We need some other things around here like a new bedroom set and such so, I think the 2005 is where my money will land...

I am, however, going to liquidate a few mods off of my truck... namely the King Ranch tonneau ...

I'd love to have the F-250... it's a BEAUTIFUL truck. The 6.0L isn't getting the rave reviews from an engine standpoint though... One final note, I don't think it would've fit in the garage. I think I would've lacked clearance by LESS THAN one inch on top. Bumper to bumper, it would've fit with about a foot to spare on both ends but, height was an issue...

I love the look of the 2005 F-150 from what I've seen thus far so, rather than jumping into something that I'm not all that sure about (aka: the superduty), I think I'm going to jump on the 'NEXT' F-150.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't necessarily in the market for the F250, but I am on the "Z" plan and they aren't rebating the F150's much at all. I was able to get the KR F250 V10 CC FX-4 for less than I would an F150. I would tell you what I paid, but ya'll would probably give me the boot for sure....

Nah, I know what you paid as I'm a "Z-Plan" guy too (thanks to my stepfather in law)...

I have been looking at them VERY heavily lately... I just can't justify that much truck though... even though it pains me to walk away from my dream truck...

How do you like that V10? I was begining to lean that way as I've read too many stories about problems with the 6.0L over on dieselstop.com.

Again, welcome aboard... we'd love to see some pictures of the new beauty!

I will post some pictures soon. Look into the "Z" plan as a previous F150 owner I was able to secure 4000 in rebates on top of "Z". As for the V-10...I live her in South Texas and got all kinds of grief from my diesel buddies for the gas, but when I asked how they like the $65 oil changes and the $4k diff on price they quit smacking their gums...besides they didn't have a KR...lol. Back to the engine....so far it is wonderful. It is quiet till you jump on it a bit. I saw a rice burner sliding from behind me and gave it some gas and looked down and I was already doing 80...power is deceptive...in a nut shell I love it......

I wish I could justify it but, I simply can't. The money is a tad more than I'd like to spend but not out of the question.... the real snag for me is that I simply don't need that much truck. Sure, it's an awesome machine and has the amenities of a Caddy but, unless you're towing all the time or have the need for some serious hauling, it's probably not the machine for you. That's the category that I fell within...

My 4X2 SuperCrew is probably more truck than I 'really' need as I rarely haul nor do I tow much of anything. I simply like the feel of a VERY large vehicle...

I get in the ballpark of 14MPG with my 5.4L on my SCREW, I'm curious to hear what you're getting out of that V10 with that much more weight. I've heard numbers as low as 8 from some folks... that, for me, isn't even a possibility as I have about 65 miles round trip every day.

Couple the lack of need and the gas mileage with some of the problems that I've seen that the 6.0L (which is what I wanted) has had in the very recent past and it killed the deal in my mind...

I still envy you... I wish I could justify it.

According to the computer I'm getting 11.4mpg. This is the first tank of gas I am still working on. I expect to probably get around 12-13. Not to bad for a heavy truck. From what I understand from other forums they have taken care of the problems with the 6.0L.
