Unhappy window motor noise

OK for the first time, I have a little problem with the King.
It started making a slight noise in the drivers side window controll unit. A humming if you will, seemed only to happen when
I was at a stop.( or maybe that was the only time I could hear it happening. Anyway.... I get up to take my boy to school and the mirror blinkers, radio, windshield wipers, and window controlls would not work.
So I got the boy to school, went inside to sign him from being late, then on return.... everything worked fine????
This was last week and the outside temp was fine, no rain, and all fuses were good. Today the hummimg started again, so I am waiting to see if I get the problem to repeat.
Any inside info would help ease my mind, since this was a pre-owned KR, and my first Ford.

Just a shot in the dark here but, I had a small rattle from my passenger door similar to what you're describing.

It drove me nuts to the point that I pulled off in a parking lot one day to find the damn noise come hell or high water.

Long story short, and many curse words later, it turned out to be a loose door panel. That's right, something as simple as that.

Your door panel is connected with three screws. Yep, just three.

Two are at the bottom of the door on centers and the third is behind the plastic piece behind the door handle.

Check to make sure those are tight. Hope it's just that simple! Good luck!

RP,
I wish it was, but the noise is with-out-a-doubt an electrical motor in the window controll unit. But the problem with the equipment not working, has not been repeated.
I have ,how ever, heard the passenger door rattle noise before. and I will look into it.
Thanks

Are you still under warranty KOR? I'd make it an issue for them to deal with.

I recently had a similar problem with my drivers side window motor. My wasn't quite a humming noise it was more a clunk or thud when the window reached the upper limit. More so when I was checking to make sure all windows were up tight before I left the truck.

I figured it was a problem with the mount itself, a SCREW loose or something.

I took it to the local stealership for them to look at and they told me it was just an alignment problem. The noise disappeared for a couple days but is now back again so I am off once again to have them look at it.

Not sure if this helps or not, but you aren't the only one with a faulty drivers side window motor.

Thanks again guys, but to my own dismay the dealership would not give an extended warrenty. (it was over the 36k mark when I bought it) and they said the K&N air system, and the Gibbson exhust system that was on it would void the warrenty. Increased the HP so they wouldnt write an extended.
So I will have to do a little search and fix, on my own.
Thanks again for the help.
Thats why I come here.
