Question Time for new tires

Well, it's time for new tires. I'm currently running on P265/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler RT/S's. I've thought about going bigger but am concerned about dealing with the speedo. So now I'm just thinking about going wider. So what are your recommendations for tires? I don't do a lot of highway driving so I'm not too concerned about noise. Should I go taller, wider, stay the same and what brands do you have? Pics would be cool too.

I could post this on the Tires forum but figure King Ranchers know best so thought I'd start here.

Thanks,

I haven't really looked into tires lately but a neighbor with a GM mentioned there was some good buyer feedback info on the tirerack website. He ended up with some brand i've never heard of and is happy. Just curious....how many miles did you get from the originals? did you rotate them?

APT had a good post in the SuperCrew forum on the same thing:

He provided a link to Tirerack for a owner's survey.

I have 43k on the truck right now and I've had them rotated every 2-3 oil changes. I haven't measured how much tread is left but I've noticed the traction getting worse than usual. I've decided to go to 285's in BFG AT's. I just have to call some local places to see how they compare to internet prices.

Thanks,
