Question buying a king ranch

i was thinking of buying a 2004 F-250 King Ranch and saw one post where there was an f-250 cooler. Does a gift like the cooler usually come with the king ranch trucks? I know at some point portfolios came with the f-150 i didnt know if they still continued this with the newer truck maybe someone out there knows. thanks

I don't know the current situation with the Super Duty trucks but, that ebay auction that you mentioned did say that he got it as a gift with his superduty.

You are also correct in saying that the F-150 KRs USED TO come with a free gift. That program was discontinued in late 2002 however. Thus, the 2003 folks didn't get a goodie.

The 2001 guys got a King Ranch planner (very nice) and some got the leather portfolio in 2001-2002 (very nice as well). I had the luck of holding both (as one of the other members and I traded the planner for the portfolio)... they were VERY nice pieces that would cost around $100 from the KR Saddle Shop (even though they don't sell any KR/F-150 branded stuff).

As far as I know there are no give aways for the purchase of the 2003's. I recently purchased one and later emailed Ford asking if I could purchase a King Ranch blanket that they used to give new owners. I included my address. I received no e-mail response. To my surprise a week later I received a package in the mail that contained a leather King Ranch portfolio, a King Ranch t-shirt, a bottle of King Ranch leather cleanerand a nice note apologizing for no blanket. This was all sent at no cost and they wished me years of future enjoyment with my new truck. I WAS IMPRESSED !!

Anybody know if the King Ranch blankets are still available, who has them, and how much they are?

This 'King Ranch' blanket thing is a mystery to me. I have a hunch they're referring to the blanket shown above which was more specific to SuperCrew buyers (KRs included).

In 97 I bought a Lariat, 4x4, 3 door, flareside. About 4 months later, Ford send me two nice folding chairs in a blue carrying case with the F-150 emblem on them
In 02 I spent about 6 thousand dollars more and didn't get squat from Ford.

With my 99 Expi they sent 2 nice folding chairs with "Exedition" written on the back. With the 02 KR they sent a planner (real nice) and a bottle of leather conditioner.

I think they should put a bottle of KR leather conditioner in the glove box of every new King Ranch. Usually by the time the new owner gets the truck it's due for a good leather rub.

go figure? What the heck is Ford thinking, they should give a pair with every F-150. That might be a sure way to increase Chevy sales.

What you get as a 'freebee' really depends upon the dealership where you get your vehicle. Then it depends upon the particular salesperson at that dealership.

When we got our KR (used) at the dealer, the salesman told me of the giveaway over at the main lot. It was a small circular tool kit with many little gadgets in it that should have fit nicely behind the rear seats. When I got over to the main lot the personnel there told me that there weren't any left. When I told the salesman he just said "bull s---!" However, we did not receive the freebee. The salesman then got us a nice hitch and ball set from somewhere out back and had us drive around to get it.

Our car club collects many small freebees to give away at shows, mainly hats, key chains, and similar items. These usually come from the same few Ford dealers out of around 65 plus in the North Texas area. Most dealerships do not contribute even when asked. Much of the good stuff is never seen by the public.

So...find a good salesperson at a good dealership.

I think the freebie was linked to the truck new... mine came from Ford directly rather than through the stealership. Individual stealerships may offer additional freebies (ie: a free hotdog, coke, and a frizbee/baloons for the kids) but, I don't think they're handing out $100 writing pads/day planners with those freebie hawking sales guys running around.
