Question '04 King Ranch F-150 or only SuperDuty?

Greetings!

My '01 Expy Eddie Bauer 4x4 lease is up in March and I've been looking at the '04 F150 Lariat ... does anyone know if Ford will release an F150 version of the King Ranch for '04 like the '03 crew cab version? My buddy has one and the awesome leather seats are definately worth it ... the 'leatherette' in my Expy is garbage...

I see on the Ford.com web site that all the 2004 'co-branded' trucks (Harley Davidson, King Ranch) are all Super Dutys.

??

Thanks for any information...

Very little is known about plans for the KR.

We do know that Ford has a contract with the King Ranch that lasts another 2 years at least, so more KR's will almost certainly come along.

I think you will find that most of the regulars here and Ford Dealerships themselves are pretty sure an F 150 KR will come along but probably only for the 05 model year.

That's what I have been banking on anyway.

Nearly everyone here is banking on a late 04 or early 05 production King Ranch F-150.

I've contacted the company that actually manufacturers the interiors to see if they would exist and, from the vauge answer that I got from one of the upper end guys was that they were having some troubles with their hide supplier out of Tennessee but, INDEED, there would be a King Ranch.

Ford recognizes the importance of these 'botique' vehicles and understand that the profit margins are higher thus, they WILL continue to make both the HD and KR F-150s however; we may not see them this production year.

Unhappy

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is no plans to offer the King Ranch in the F150 ever again. The dealer told me that it was going to be a F250-350 option only.

Hey Web,

How is it that you've got a 2000 Super Crew KR when the best info I've heard is it was released first on a 2001 Super Crew? I have no reason to argue that the KR will not be available on the new body style though. Other funny thing is that Ford almost always uses their tooling for at least 10 years before switching body styles. I've been told that it takes around $100,000,000 to tool up for a new body style and the Super Crew has been around for less than 4 years, what a waste of good tooling money it was to stop production so soon in it's life. BTW, I never did really like the curves on the bed which made it look like the sportside body where I always liked the styleside look myself.

Oh well, I'm an Expy owner now so who cares what I have to say.

Later,

~DM~

Hope I'm not out of place posting this information since it came to me via another forum member.
I will leave him to elaborate if requested or necessary !!

""The Ford technician at the State Fair of Texas said no King Ranch F150 in 2004, just available in F250 & F350. However, the tech did state that the King Ranch F150 would be back in 2005. "

Well, not much to elaborate. I asked the Ford rep. when the F-150 King Ranch would be available. He stated that it would be back in 2005, but that the King Ranch F-250 & F-350 were available in 2004. He did seem pretty confident with his answer - no hesitation what-so-ever.
Since I am still wrestling with the theory of relativity, I will not try to understand the reasoning behind this. I only know that my wife and I love our 2002 King Ranch and plan to keep it for quite a while.

Just like it's been reported ever since the grumble with the new 04 body style began... late 2004 or 2005. It will be back. Trust me on this one.

Just looks like now that it's going to be 05 rather than sooner.
