What is this ??
Stand for "Chaos"
Mine has an "S" after it.
Okay, enough of the wiseA$$ answers.
I haven't been out to the truck yet to check, but my guess is it's the type play mode. In this case Continuous.
*edit*
I was wrong, I just checked. It's Compression. Pressing the 5 button with the CD player on turns Compression on and off.

It obviously must be a setting that is not appropriate for all CDs or else they would have just integrated the technology seemlessly into the head unit. You would think so anyway.
Now that I know how to switch it on/off then I'm going to see if I can notice a difference.

The way "Compression" was explained to me is that if you play compilation CDs, which tend to contain songs recorded at different volume levels, it will play each song at the same volume level. Haven't tried it. Could've just been bs from my salesman
Tried it - I like it!
Seems to behave like a loudness switch. Compression is used in commercials on TV to make them appear louder, but yet stay within the required volume level in compared to the TV program itself.
