Hey Rock...Why didn't you tell us .....

Hey Rock...Why didn't you tell us .....

About the accident involving your Grandma.

I only just picked up on it on the general discussion forum which I sometimes don't check for a few days.

I'm sure you didn't mention it here did you?

Anyway let us know how things go and all best wishes for now.

Well, I just posted it down there since it was generally unrelated and I assumed that if you needed to see it that you'd see it there. *shrugs*

Sorry...

Just as an update, she went home today from the hospital... 3 cracked ribs, a broken ankle, and a concussion... all are healing nicely.

Things are looking up but, we will still have to deal with the aftermath as my grandmother lost her best friend in the wreck. She was pronounced dead at the scene....

Thanks for the thoughts Len. I do appreciate it.

Sorry to hear that.
Pay her lots of visits and make her something good to eat. Grandmothers really enjoy getting something from their grandkids that the kids have made themselves. They brag on it for a long time.

Hey RP,

I saw the other thread about it, I'm really sorry about your grandmother. If you need anything that I can help you with (though probably not), email me or something. I'm praying for you and everyone in your family.

Awful sorry to hear about your grandmother. As a police officer, I've worked many, many accidents from very minor fender benders to fatalities and I know how devastating they can to be to the people involved.

My thoughts and prayers to you and your family. I hope your grandmother has a complete and speedy recovery.

She's back in the hospital now...

When she went to the doctor to have her cast removed from her ankle they found some pretty bad swelling and got concerned that it might be blood clots...

They ran an MRI on it and, sure enough, she had some clots. Because of her head trauma and potential to bleed, they couldn't put her on thinners to help get rid of them so, they admitted her again and did surgery yesterday with some sort of 'in-artery' filter in her leg. Long story short, if one of those clots breaks loose, this filter (which obviously isn't the medical term) will, theoretically, catch it and prevent it from moving about inside her body.

Rock,

Let her know that there are lots of KR members thinking about her and her well being. I'll be hoping that she recovers completely real soon too. I don't pray much but I'll ask god to bless her.

Later,

~DM~
