Question Anyone Else Have Any New Additions???

Hello gang,

This is my latest addition to my collection of things that cost money, break down, burn gas and always seem to need something. I just bought this Bombardier Outlander 4x4 ATV from my local cycle shop. I was going to bolt for a boat but that's on hold for the time being, the wife just can't decide. While the wife is deciding, I wanted to get something to introduce my son to outdoor adventures and the boat was my first choice and ATVing was my second. I guess it's obvious that my first choice is not available at this time.

Anyone else into ATVs? I took it for a spin this evening with my son and we had a blast and this thing really moves and accelerates like you wouldn't believe. The engine is a water cooled 400cc Rotax 4 valve four stroke engine. The unit has shift on the fly 4x4 and is shaft driven and has front and rear disc brakes. It was chosen as the 4x4 ATV for 2003 by ATV magazine and ATV Guide.

The truck is filthy but it's rained off and on for the last two months and here recently it's rained every single day for at least 3 weeks if not more. I'm really getting tired of the rain...The tire tracks on my gravel drive should be a dead give away as to how much water is on my lawn, too much I might add...

Later,

~DM~

Oh you dog... you found out that it really was gold didn't you? Damnit! I never made it down there to cash in...

Seriously man, nice ride... and the 4-wheeler is pretty cool too. LOL!

Congrats. on the new addition. I just bought a new red Honda Rincon. It seems to be just about the same size as yours. Barely fits in the small bed. Here's something you might want to try. I was, of course, scared of busting the back glass out when driving up on the truck. I made myself a "bumper" out of a piece of 6" PVC pipe with elbows on each end. I made it as wide as the bed of the truck and the elbows made it the perfect height for the tires to catch on just before it touches the window. Now I can drive up without thinking about it and then only have to strap the ATV from the back. I painted it black to match the bedliner. It looks nice and stays in the truck all of the time. I'm also looking to buy a chestnut KR. One thought that crossed my mind? that red 4 wheeler is going to look awlful in that truck. Thanks for the picture. It's not that bad.

Thanks,

Anyone notice where my bed extender is hiding? It kind of looks like a front rack on the ATV, doesn't it?

Mark,
What's the engine size on your Honda? Did you pay more than $7K for your new toy? Mine was not too bad, under $6K with taxes, registration, ramp, cover and helmets . Insurance ran me less than $200 for a year with full coverage for fire, theft or vandalism.

I got a new 17hp Craftsman Riding mower a couple weeks ago. Does that count? Hey, it will at least pop wheelies, even though I'd rather it not do that .

New Mod!

Looks great! I bet it is a blast to ride. Just barely enough room w/tool box. I got the same set up, but w/o 4wheeler

Nice ATV

I have the Bombardier Traxter. I also have the tool box in my truck so it takes up most of my bed. The only way i can fit my traxter in is to back it in the bed, talk about a fun situation. Your going to love your new Bombardier, these things will go through anything. I have went out with other guys in the everglades with polaris, honda, and suzuki. I end up driving past those models and having to pull them out of mud-holes. Have fun, get muddy.

Daveman,
My Rincon is a 650. It's a fairly big rig. Mine sits on my tailgate like yours but I don't have the toolbox. A buddy of mine ask me why I didn't just get a jeep. The thing only weighs 600 lbs so it's pretty quick. It's top speed is 70, but I don't ever plan on seeing that. I've had it up to 55 and these big southern bugs felt like 90 mph fastballs. They sell for around 8 grand around here, but after lots of haggling I got it for 6700.00 plus tax. I added the 4 year warranty but got a $300 rebate. Total check 7461.00.
I started out looking for a 400, but fell victim to the big shiny ride that was sitting in the showroom window. You know how it goes. "Ohhh! this is nice...how much is this one?" I need to learn how to include a picture. If I figure it out. I'll show it to you after while.

Very nice quad bike daveman.
If you didn't need the toolbox then you could probably fit the bike inside the bed extender. That would be a choice setup.
I opted for the boat (used of course) but I still want a quad. Oh well. Nice motivation for getting it though - get the lad away from the mall and the TV !! Well done.
