Back Home

Hey there King Ranch Owners---I'm back from my first long road trip in the KR. We drove over 1700 miles through Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. I had to take it on some gravel and dirt roads which I didn't like, but what the he--, it's a truck. I still don't have enough miles to take it for the first service.

I have to say this is the best "Ride" I've ever owned, but even with the nice ride and great seats my butt was ready to be home in the recliner. I took two hours to get the bug guts and road dirt off but it's looking good now and ready for the next trip.

Rockpick, you're doing a great job on the shirt and sticker orders--I nominate you for the first President of the King Ranch International Ford Truck Owners Club--Do I hear any seconds.

Glad to hear that you made it back okay Jayhawker. I have to agree with your comment on a sore butt. There aren't too many vehicles that can make my toosh happy for 1700 miles unless they have a built in Lazy-Boy. Hrrm... There's an idea for the next 'special edition' f-150 huh? LOL!

I certainly appreciate the nomination for the IKROC President spot and the praise for the shirt/sticker order.

I can't take full credit though. There are several folks that have worked pretty hard behind the scenes to make sure this has become a reality.

Sarman was the one that lined us up with the embroidery guy which is ironically the same company that does all the shirts for the King Ranch Saddle Shop. He sent numerous emails to get that ball rolling.

Joe (KRSC02) has been spearheading the sticker purchase and is handling that end of the deal. He's also been some pretty good moral support when I was pulling my hair out with this order.

That's just a couple... there have been numerous folks that have pitched in with a kind word and a helping hand along the path here but, I don't know that I could mention everyone. I'm sure I'd leave someone out and I certainly don't want to do that....

As far as the president thing is concerned. I am interested in being the first president if you all are interested in having me hold that position.

I'm not sure what all it will entail but, I assure you that I'll give it my all and see to it that it's done with accuracy and, most of all, a passion. We all love our trucks and feel that we have a common bond with them and, with that in mind, I feel that we can build something that is pretty neat. Being spread out across the nation will be a challenge however; that shouldn't stop us from moving forward and having a focus point.

With that being said, I'll leave it up to you guys. If you want me to run with more of this, I'd be happy to take it on.

We've had a bunch of great ideas from other members and other folks that frequent our boards (IE: recruitment cards, website, etc) thus, we should have someone to lead the way and pave the path. I'll be the guy if you want...

RP,

As long as you know the meaning of the word "if" and "is" then I'm down with it. You have the "sticktoitnevess" (kool, I made up a word!) to be the man to do it.

Not to disregard the behind the scenes work of others on this too,
but Joe still gets O'Doules since I'm way too old and soft to do time (Bubba's not my type )

Note: Sarman hasn't piped up about his fav brew yet but I AIN'T driving to WA for a sixer RP, you just might have to settle for a more generally available brand (jeez the shirts are only 17.50 )

Ahh... I'll let it all slide for Mich Light I guess.

Definately one of the perks of this job... being out in the West where microbrews rule the earth.... It's in our code of ethics that I taste and rate microbrews as they are discovered. Trust me... I had it written in!!! LOL!

RP, you have my vote for prez.
You might want to consider a board of directors style of leadership (VP, Treasurer, etc.) to reduce the workload.
Surely in our electronic age, it is possible to have communication between directors without being in the same room or city.
Just a thought.
