First Trip in my KR

Hey there Folks,

I made my first long trip in my 03 King Ranch this weekend, drove up to Northeast Oklahoma. I must say it was one of the most pleasant drives I've made in a long while. The nice thing, my back didn't hurt after the 325 mile trip, I love the KR seats and the Missus didn't complain either.

I did come back to a disaster though, we had golf ball sized hail Saturday night and my roof is totaled and out Crown Victoria is badly damaged, just glad the King Ranch was out of town, of course I would have squeezed it into the garage before the storm if I had been in Texas.

Sorry to hear about the vic... glad to hear it wasn't the KR.

Hail is some wicked stuff... I've seen a softball sized hail storm and it was nothing short of impressive...

windshields beat into the front seats of cars.... roofs GONE....

mother nature REALLY put on a show...

Glad you're okay and best wishes for a speedy recovery because of the storm.

jayhawk should have said you were coming down. I live in NE Oklahoma could have met up if your missus would have allowed it.

Where do you live in NE Oklahoma KRCowboy?

We were in Grove visiting my wife's Aunt. We're trying to find some property near Grand Lake for our retirement home.

Hey JayHawk, Glad the trip was nice, the storm hit Irving as well and only certain parts got the big hail. I had a few pots and a solar light get destryed. I am glad my KR was in storage. Yes the seats are good for long trips!!! BTW, did you ever get those mudflaps? I saw another or maybe the same set again on ebay. Check it out:

I'm about 30 miles northeast of Tulsa in the Claremore/Oolagah area.

Thanks for the link Damon, I already ordered a set of mudguards. Now I need to get a set of floor mats, I called Earl Owen and the salesman said he had some especially for the King Ranch

I've been to Claremore, KRCOWBOY. I lived in Tulsa back in the late 70s, worked at McDonnell-Douglas. I love Oklahoma, that is why I'm moving there in 3 1/2 years.

Cool that you already ordered the mudguards. I had posted a thread yesterday as I saw some liner floor mats like the ones I have in my truck, and they were for 15.00 for the front and rear. I paid 89.00 for my set, and was hoping you would see the thread as that was a good deal. Let me know what earl owens says about those mats made for the King Ranch. I wonder what he meant?????
