Back to the Doctor for Tomas

Well, I am taking Tomas back to the doctor today for the same problem he had last time. He has a leak that is coming from a sensor near the oil filter.......I think it is called the sending unit.....not sure, but I took him in a while ago they fixed it and I took him home parked him in the garage and didn't drive him until saturday....well, after a little pleasure drive I came home parked him in the driveway to wash him and I come out to find oil under him.....so I crawl under him to see if it is the same leak and it is....grrrrrr....

anyone else have this problem?

don't have that problem...my problems have all been power steering. Had a hose replaced once, the pump twice(just 3 months apart). Oh I did have to have the a hose on the A/C replaced too.

Skagel,

Sorry to hear of your troubles but I read somewhere that the leak is common among Charcoal Blue trucks. The color was said to create strange behavior when looking at it and truck assemblers were leaving parts off and some loose while others were cross threaded. It was also said that some truck assemblers were reporting suicidal thoughts during truck construction on the line. Hahahaha, just kidding and I hope you get your problems solved soon.

Well, I had beEn complaining about my Tomas's condition all week at work and I got a phone call from my DPG (Ford's Dearborn Prooving Grounds) project manager and he said that 6 of Ford's finest would love to take a look at the problem I am having....so I promptly drove over to DPG....they put some die in my oil lifted him up removed the skid plate turned out the lights and turned on this black light, started my baby up and we sat there and watched the glowing oil come out of the filter.....that is right the freakin filter which was a $10 Amsoil filter is what is failing....grrrr.....so today I will be writing a nasty little letter to Amsoil regarding there defective product.

oh and for those of you who think I just cross threaded the filter or I didn't put it on tight enough you're wrong.....if 6 Ford engineers said the oil filter is on right the darn thing was put on right.

OH and Thanks to the Ford guys for helping me out!!!!

Hi Daveman
