Thumbs up First mods....

Stopped at the local dealer and picked up my first toys for my toy. Bought the AZ Beige molded splash guards, (mudflaps for us normal folk), and the heavy molded vinyl F-series floor mats. The winters around here can get nasty and these two items are a must for me. Have called the Line-X bed liner place and will get that done by months end. Disappointed tho, they don't have beige color? Maybe it's my local place but also called another one and they had black only. The first one had some colors but only thing close was "dark brown" kind of chocolate colored she said. Puke. Anyway, guess I will get black. Also, am still debating on the tonneau. Should I try to find the AZ Beige KR tonneau or go with black. I am concerned about the black and the beige molding on the top of the bed, but don't want a cover that leaks to all get out. No fiberglass tops for me, just have to make up my mind I guess. Any other comments on this? I know the Black KR looked good with the black tonneau, but the Charcoal Blue worries me. I can't make up my mind. Doesn't somebody make a GOOD quality AZ Beige tonneau? If you find one let me know.

Help masters of wisdom on this board, help.

Do you happen to have the Ford Part Number handy for the mud guards, Ilfan, I'm planning on buying some for my KR.

Thanks

I'm with skagel. Don't get the black (unless black is what you want).

I know your local dealer can get you an Az Beige drop in liner. I'm not sure as to the cost but, I think it'd be better than the black (just my opinion).

Here's a picture of my AZ Beige drop in... I love it. Looks very good with the rails.

Yeah, it's a crappy picture but, you get the point...

It'd be worth the drive to get the line-x though... the beige is awesome looking as I've seen Tomas. Very classy.

Thumbs up Jayhawker...

Ford p/n's for the molded Arizona Beige splash guards would be as follows:

Front - 1L3Z-16A550-GAA
Rear - 1L3Z-16A550-HAA

The fronts do have the cutouts for the running boards. My service manager at my local dealer told me these are all that are available, not only in AZ Beige but in the black as well. I trust him and know he wouldn't lie to me. I believe Damon has a pair on his KR with the chrome step bars and they look fine, he has posted a pic previously. I paid $85 bucks tax included for the ones I got yesterday. Not cheap, but I wanted them. I am putting them on this weekend.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Question Skagel....

What is the name of your local Line-X shop that sprayed in your liner? It's in Bryton, MI? I left my atlas at home, where in relation to say Detroit is this at? I travel for work alot and have heard of Bryton of course, but can't place where it's at. How much was your liner? The shop here told me $385 for black and an extra $150 for a colored liner. Of course they didn't have the color I wanted anyway. Would be interested to know. I like the look of the AZ Beige liners, from pictures I have seen of the plastic drop in, and am definitely interested in doing this. RP, I like the look of your truck, but would prefer the spray in liner. Skagel, would appreciate any input you could give me.

Thanks.

Industrial Coatings and Bedliners is the namve of the place
Wayne Kirkpatrick is the Manager/owner
9810 East Grand River ave.
Brighten, MI 48116

I just happened to have his card still in my wallet.....I don't remember the cost of the liner, but I think it was in the area of $485 or so, but I also had them do my hitch and I think that was an extra $85 or something.....but please please please tell me if and when you are going to do this because I really really really want them to spray my tow hooks, my moms tow hooks and her hitch........maybe it will help absorb some of your cost too. oh and I also have his email LineXMich@aol.com

please please please let me know.

Sometimes I amaze myself.....the total cost with tax was $553.50. And I believe they charged my $85 for the hitch so if you aren't doing your hitch figure $90.10 less

oh and you are about a 5.5 hour drive from Brighten, but I promise you it is well worth it.

I agree with skagel...it's definately worth it. I've seen her truck... the spray in beige is VERY nice.

I would have it if it wasn't for my drop in -- which was a dealer installed option.

Thank You for the part numbers. I'm still going back and forth as whether I want to put the mud guards on my truck.

Damon posted a link to a set on E-Bay last Saturday for $59.95, but I waited until Sunday to submit my bid, by then they were gone.

I have the BedRug liner in my KR and I love the look.

Thanks again

Jayhawker

I have a regular drop in black bedliner and wish I had the bed rug as I have the shell on it and I think the carpet would look nicer. Also, I had taken the bedliner out of my previouse Supercrew and when I lifted it out, it had scrached the bottom of the bed! I only hauled a load of rocks once, never anything else, so I am considering the bedrug or the beige spray in.

Drop-in liners leaving scratches

Everyone that I have talked to in both the Kansas City area and the Des Moines area where I go to school has had scratches on their bed after pulling out a drop in liner. This is one of the reasons I will never get one, they do the job great when they are in, but I have not heard good things about pulling them out. I do not mean any offense to any of you guys with drop in liners, but just wanted to say what I have heard.

They make foam pads to go under the hard liners. That's what I have in mine. No scratches.

OK a pad under? That would cause water to stick around and rust?? I thought of that but is this a water resistant pad/ mildew resistant?
