King Ranch and rub strips, opinions!!!!!!

I kinda know why the KR editions did not come with the rub strips on the lower portions of the doors (you know where people can't dent or ding your truck door) as the two tone paint line is higher on the KR and it ir right where the rub strip goes on all other SuperCrews. They could have just put them a little higher above the paint line. I am thinking of getting some and putting them on right above the line. Should I go with the white ones to blend in or go with the Arizona Beige?

Or take the cheap option.....

Don't park near other vehicles !!

Cause you can be sure as eggs is eggs that you will go to all the trouble of fitting rubbing strips and some eejit will find a way of contriving to ding your bodywork anyway !!

MY .02

My Expi has the strips on it and it's got dings all over. Then there's the chrome tape they used on the things that's all bubbled up

If you could make it look good then I'd say why not, but if you can't I wouldn't bother with it.

gotta go w/ lent on this one, park far away and get a little exercise you'll end up in better health and have a nicer truck to boot.

Still don't know. See I know my better half will somehow, someday open the other F150's truck door on it. I do park far away and then even take two spots. I might do it and go with white above the paint and white to blend in.

I hope you only do this in lots where spots aren't really scarce and people aren't having trouble findign parking as it is. Otherwise if you do this to AVOID bad things happening to the paint you may find the opposite result.

I park out in BFE everywhere I go. One thing I like about the KR is that they don't have those strips. It makes them much easier to wash and wax.

i've found that my running boards stick out far enough that most car doors can't even hit my doors. however, trucks are another story...i stay away from them!!!

Hence, I typically pack hiking boots and a tent when I go to the mall. It takes me a couple of days to get from where I park back to the door to check out the sales...

Lenny is right... this is, by far and away, the best advice...

instead of putting strips on your truck put the rubber bumpers on the door edge of hers that way you kill two birds with one stone. your truck stays nice looking w/o strips and she doesn't put dents in your door or anyone else's for that matter.

Well, I went to the dealer and they had all of the white in stock so I put a little double sided tape on the backs and placed them on and it didn't look bad. I didn't buy them yet though, still thinking on it.

You know, the other day I went the Mall and parked out in BFE. Not another car for at least a half block. Wouldn't you know it when I came out, there was one parked right next to me. Good thing it was another KR

A lot of times though when we go out the in-laws are with us. They happen to have one of those hanging handicap stickers.

No, I don't hang out with my in-laws for that reason.

I've got one too I could use, I too park far away, and at my office in the parking garage, I do have my own spot that has no other cars around it.
