Thumbs up First Mod to the KR - XM radio

I installed my Delphi SkyFi XM reciever today. First mod to my truck. Nice clean install in less than an hour. Let me know what you think.

I paid $99 for the receiver and car kit (w/ a six month subscription agreement) direct from XM. I think the deal is still available. Go to my profile and send me an email if you want the info on how to get this deal.

That's just a small storage area. It's new for the '03s. I guess they finally decided to do something with all of that wasted space behind the plastic. It's really hardly functional, however. It's so small that If I put my wallet in there, I have a hard time getting it out.

The storage area used to be oin the extanded cabs. Still might be for all I know. My 98 extended cab had one, but it was traded in on my Supercrew. It was nice to install switches into, my fog light switch was installed in there. Kept all the switches tucked away out of sight.

Looks good on the XM. Kinda reminds me of a 2-way radio

I too have the little storage hole below the steering wheel. It's in both my 99 expi and the 02 KR. I use it to store mints, and I think my wife keeps her spare change pouch in there. I'm not sure if there is an intentioinal purpose for it.

another nice place to hide switches is in the overhead console. In my '01 Screw, I drilled holes into the forward partition in the sunglasses compartment. really work well. switches were out of sight behind a door that is easy to access.

if you want the little slot you could always get a replacement piece from the dealer or junk yard

I must admit that you have one of the nicest looking F-150 interiors I have ever seen. That Burl looks great and then you took the vents and painted them to give it a finished look. I even like the way you did the Delphi install, so much so that I may just get one of those instead of the Pioneer!

Sorry Rock, I have deviated from your footsteps! LOL

BTW, I did get the keypad installed and works like a champ..

Later,
Chris (ReelWork)
