Question Key pad code ?

Good day all,one question for you. We are new owners of an 02 KR,not the original owners mind you. Need to find out how to get the factory code to the key pad on the door. I called the ford dealership, and was told that it will cost 70.00 to hook up to th computer to get the code. Does this sound kosher? Figured that this would be cheaper than a call to a locksmith,or the wife. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you have the owner's manual, it is on the plastic card in the manual. If you don't have it, the only way to get it would be the dealer, or trial and error, which I wouldn't recommend.

if you bought it from the previous owner he should have told you, if you bought it from a dealers lot they should give it to you free of charge, i would call ford corp about this if they don't.

When I purchased my truck my dealer gave me the wrong key pad card and I called them and they looked the number up via the internet from the dealer, or at least this is what they told me, but they did find my correct number with in 3 minutes.

If yu look under your dash against the fire wall drives side between the brake and parking brake you will see a white box, on this white box will be your keypad code.

The magic code has been found.

After more standing on my head the code has now been recovered. We have the command start system on our KR and the controle module for this was zip tied in front of the white one. Thanks all

Glad you got that figured out there 1shot...

I noticed that you were in Montana... where abouts? I'm out there occasionally on business in the Butte / Missoula / Drummond area.

Sounds like a plan if I'm ever up that way...

We tend to stay from around Butte to the west... really don't have much going on around Billings but, I'll definately let you know the next time I'll be out there...

Thanks for the invite! I hope it works out sometime.

Hey RP, I was told today that the Fort Peck lake was at it's lowest h2o level ever. I have a buddy that goes up to that area and finds tons of fossils. He said now that the level will be low, more goodies to find that were not accessible before.

Interesting... where's Ft. Peck Lake? Sounds like a spot I should check out the next time I'm up there...

I've also found a place the claims to have double terminated tourmaline crystals in a hillside. (Tourmaline is a precious stone that is pretty valuable)

I'm thinking about trying my luck and seeing if I can find that spot too...

That's what I get for buy the Roadside Geology of Montana book... I have all these spots that I want to go and check out now but rarely have any time while I'm out there on business.
