Hello

Hello everyone and thank you for accepting me to the forum.
I decided to join since there is so much valuable information available on the forum.
I own a 1997 F150 4.2L w/ 5 sp manual. It has a 1999 4.2L engine which just got antifreeze in the oil.

I am debating if I should fix or get another motor.

Welcome! Depends on what is available I suppose. Good Luck with the repair or replacement.

Since you caught it before it hydrolocked, I would do a full service gasket kit, and check tolerances.

Why scrap a good motor?

And Welcome!

I think I will do that.
I will replace the lower intake manifold gaskets with the heavy-duty ones and replace the timing cover gasket as well which I think is the one leaking.
Do you know if they make a better quality than the standard one for the timing cover?

Thank you all.
