Hi, I'm new here and have a few questions regarding my first ford. I bought a 94 f150 flareside and i am turning it into a new truck. we have fixed a few minor mechanical issues and have recently changed the plugs to find that there is some oil and the smell of gas on the plug. my brother being a mechanic believes that this is what was causing a compression problem and says that we may have to get a new motor soon because of the rings not holding compression. either by swap or rebuild. My questions are, 1. can we just change the rings and stop the what could be a minor compression leak. 2. would a rebuild be bank breaking? 3. has anyone encountered this and what was the remedy? and 4. can anyone recommend a good engine swap company or rebuilder in the state of NJ.

Any information will be helpful.
