I've used this forum many many times while working on my 2008 F150 4x4 with 113,000 miles and this is one of the best f150 forums there are! so...now unto my problem this past weekend my battery light came on. I used my multimeter and my alternator was charging the battery roughly around 15.3 volts which I thought seemed high so I figured that my alternator was the culprit. I replaced the alternator and started the truck and ......o crap battery light still on. I used my multimeter to check the charge on the battery with the truck on and it was around 14.8-14.9. Also had autozone check with their instrument and they got the same readings. They said alternator was good and also battery checked out. No idea about the light. Took truck to oreilly's on their instrument they said battery was good but on last leg. Need help on what to do next....

 

If it's the original battery, it's 6-7 years old and that's about the life span of an automotive battery.

Battery was put in in July 2012. Did spend two winters in Wisconsin. I do have a thread over in the 04-08 forum feel free to go over there and give your 2cents on this issue and see what others say. Thank you.

 

Well, you shouldn't post the same subject/question in multiple forums asking the same thing....

I'd look at the battery next, but that's just me...
