2011 xlt 5.0
2011 xlt 5.0
Just got treated to a new truck, 2011 F150 5.0, XLT Off road pkg, 44k miles. It's got more tech stuff on it than I ought existed. The dash display (w/ str. wheel controls) is going to take some time to adapt to as well. Sync, bluetooth, etc. So far I've found I've got locking a locking diff, is this standard? I think someone put either a leveling kit or a small lift or is that the off road pkg (it sits level)? Window sticker says it's got 275/65r18's but the trucks sporting 275/60 20's. They also put leather seat in too. Over all it's the nicest truck I've ever owned. Love the gadgets!
A few questions:
Is this 5.0 a 4 valve?
How much help will the K&N AirCharger give it?
Does this motor suffer the same valve train issues as my old 2002 5.4?
And spark plug blowouts?
Need topper for work gear still.
Any advice you all can give me on this new truck would be appreciated. I've owned a '72, '89, '97, & a '02 F150 (well the '72 was a F100), & throw in a couple AMC's.

Sounds like a nice truck. No, they don't all have the locking rear end. The K&N won't do much without a tune. If those tires are taller than the stock, then your speedometer and ode meter will be off, unless the tune was modified for the difference. It is the 4v and has no known problems with plugs etc. they are prone to use a little oil, mine has always used a quart between changes at 5000 miles. Have 77,000 on mine and all I have done is drive it, except for routine maintenance. Good luck with it.
