Hello from Iowa

Hello, just picked up my 06 F150 about 2.5 weeks ago. Its an XLT model with high miles (169k) but still runs great. I bought the truck completely stock. First night I brought it home I cleaned the crap out of it top to bottom. Since then I've undercoated the whole truck, added exhaust, wheels and tires, and swapped out the old VCT solenoids with the new version.

Full night of cleaning it out........

Leveling Kit and exhaust installed........

And how it sits today with the new wheels and tires.....

Seems to be a good truck so far. I know this model (5.4 engine) is prone to certain failures but I'm trying learn about them as much as I can to prevent them.

Looking forward to participating on this site.

Thanks!
Nick

Didnt think i'd still be dailying this truck 9 years later... I bought this truck with 169k's on it. The odometer stopped working a couple of years ago at nearly 200k'mi. This has been a very good truck to me. I did do a complete timing job on it but that was just because I got annoyed of the diesel sounds.

She is gettin rusty but still completley functional.

Good to hear it’s been a good truck for you.
