Howwwwwdy!

Not exactly new to the site...but not a regular poster either.

I own an 05 Expedition King Ranch, my first Ford vehicle in 40 years of owning vehicles...("My wrenches don't fit Fords!" I used to tell my friends) and have now purchased an 05 F150XL 2WD for general hauling.
Only 56K when I bought it about 6 weeks ago...and as "plain-Jane" as they come...except for a bed liner and Undercover tonneau cover.

Anyway...I have a big and heavy foot...so the first thing that had to happen was to get the cruise control installed and enabled. (amazingly simple on these trucks) and had to have nerf bars installed so my short wife could get in/out easily.
Next...it came with stock steel wheels and plastic "chromey" wheel covers...those had to go...so I found a set of factory alloy's on Craigslist. Not perfect...but in very good condition.

Here's the "before the wheels" pic:

and after:

MUCH better...

I'm fine with the stock vinyl seats and AM/FM radio...this doesn't get a lot of driving...hell, my Expy hasn't hit 50K yet...I guess that's one of the benefits of being retired.
The truck has the 4.2l V-6, so it's relatively easy on gas...a bit PLUS for me.

I'm not sure if I'll do anything else cosmetic to the truck...it's just for Home Depot runs and misc. hauling...not a daily driver.

Welcome!

Those trucks always look funny to me with a reg cab and a long bed .... a true work truck indeed!

Yep...it was definitely a work truck in its past life...there's paint spills under the bed liner. :P

It won't be abused that way at our house. Hauling tree trimmings to the dumpster, misc. from Home Depot/Lowes...that's about as hard as it will work nowadays.

For a full-sized truck, it gets pretty decent mileage. The first fill-up, I averaged almost 18 MPG...with predominately in-town driving. My Expedition barely gets that on the freeway on long trips.
