Hello all. Old member that just had to retire 2003 F150 Lariat 4X4. It was a very sad day when the service department gave me the estimate for all the work that the old girl needed. Shocks, lower coil supports rotted away, ball joints, tie rods, rear end work......all amounted to a decision I was not very happy to make. the 2003 had 145k miles, never left me stranded in all the years I owned her and the body and interior was still in great shape.....but after much reflection and teeth gnashing I decided I would give her the oil change and tire rotation and bring her home for retirement and occasional use while I commuted in the wife's old daily beater until I saved enough to buy a new truck, if that could ever happen. To make a long story short....I went to pick up my 2003 and there in front of me sat a 2012 Lariat.....Ingot Silver and gleaming like new.........salesman came out.....made me a great offer and well....the rest is history. I am now the owner of a 2012 Ecoboosted F150 Supercrew Off Road and loaded to the gills with a bunch of stuff I need to read up on. The 2003 was traded in with a fair price that only made the 2012 more attractive. Sure is nice having a full size truck that gets 18mpg.

Sorry to hear that you had to retire your old truck, but I'm excited that you found a new one to get to know.
Let me know if you need anything; I'm here to help!Ashley
The great thing about driving a good ole truck for that long is the memories you make in them. I drove my last truck for 10 years and 150k miles and had the same feeling when I traded it in. A lot of us say we'll hold onto a pickup when you drive one that long, but few of us actually follow up on that promise. It sounds like you made a great purchase. I'm sure your new lariat is a looker. It's funny how some trucks just call out to you. Enjoy the ride!
