New guy from Ohio

I'm new to the site, although I've been lurking around for the past 8 months or so since I bought my truck. Which is a 2012 F150 supercrew fx4, with the ecoboost. So far I have done a few small mods to it. Mainly adding a 250gig hd to the factory stereo, a few tunes from Mike at 5*, a 2" leveling kit for now,m switched out the interior lights to LEDs, switched the reverse lights to 5w cree bulbs and added some nerf bars that I painted with some spray on bed liner, I also did the rear seat mod as well.

Good looking rig! Nice name too. Glad you're already admitting that that motor leads to some head inflation . . .

Thanks, I know it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Besides, I live about 15 minutes from the Ford engine plant that makes the ecoboost, so I felt it would be good to support some local workers.

My 5.4 feels like a three legged dog sometimes, but it's loud so I get over it! That's great that you supported the local plant

Well at least a three legged dog is better then a two legged horse.
Thanks jdruzik, there is a bunch of good info on here so I don't think I will be leaving anytime soon.

That's true! Your wallet will become quite distressed if you hang around here, believe me!

I'm about 10 minutes away from #1 engine plant also, out in the western burbs. Welcome and hide your wallet (or don't tell the wife)

I live out in N. Ridgville. So far shes been pretty good about me spending money on the truck. Although shes not too keen on the idea of it being lifted a whole bunch, so I have to reassure her that its not gonna be a ridiculous height. I'm wanting to go 4" with 34" tires, but another part of me wants 6" with 35's.

I had 35's on my 07 FX4 and they rubbed with a 3" autospring kit. Nitto makes the terra grappler in a 275/65/20 which is a 34" tire and the same width as the stock pirrelis. with the 34's you can run an Autospring kit. If you buy them online, make sure you buy from out of state to avoid the sales tax. I bought my trail grapplers from truck add ons out of KY for $1334 with free shipping and no tax, not to mention every place around here wanted anywhere from 1500-1600 for the same tires. To get them mounted, NTB said no because I did not buy from them, firestone said there machine could not handle a tire that big, conrads would not because they did not carry that brand of tire, but mr. tire on great northern blvd next to hh gregg did it for a buck 20.

All in all, if you go with an A/S kit you can get everything for less than 2K, that's the kit, the alignment after, the tires and get them mounted.

BTW, I'm basically your neighbor, I'm right in North Olmsted and here is the truck I had the 35's on

He's already got a level!

Go 6" without a doubt. We've had this conversation with a few other guys who were pondering 4 vs. 6. If you go 4", you'll regret it and want a 6" down the road. It will still be quite moderate and not at all crazy. Pockets has a 6" and that's just the right size

Yeah, I am definitely leaning towards going with the 6" lift. I think it will look a lot better.
