Newbie & first Ford product purchased

Just purchased a leftover 2012 F-150 XLT Crew cab 2WD. Have been a GM truck buyer for many years. So far the truck has not disappointed. 5.0 w/6spd auto & trailer towing package. Bought the truck because of the size of the interior cabin and for towing.

Welcome to the site and to Ford. Hope your 5.0 is as good as mine has been.

Thanks, am looking forward to giving it a ride this weekend down on the Maryland Eastern Shore. Can I ask you what kind of fuel mileage you have been receiving?

With the factory tires, I averaged 19.5 overall for about 35,000 miles. That was an average of 20 to 21 on the highway running 70 t0 75. Weather and wind are big factors in mileage on these trucks. Usually about 17.5 around town. I lost about 1.2 mpg when I bought new tires. The new ones are softer compound and slightly wider, even though they are the same size. I have the 4x2, 5.0 with 3.55 gears. Have 52,000 trouble free miles on it now.

Thanks for the response, Just put my first tank of gas in it today. Has the O.E. Michelin 255/65R17 LTX A/S on it. This truck has 3.31 gears. Will get to clock my first tank of fuel. Most of my driving is short trip.
