Hi, I am a Ford car-guy, and presently play around with Mustangs mostly (I am an Administrator on www.MustangForums.com). We have had F150s in our family since buying a new 1987, followed by a 1992, then a 1996, then a 2005. All were base model regular cab XL's, and used in the family business. Being married with a 17yo son who is 6', the cab of our 05 has gotten a bit tight on space when all three of us go anywhere.
I will be picking up a white 2007 SuperCrew that was a police vehicle for a Sheriff's Dept in Montana. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures to post yet, but I will by the following weekend. Me and a buddy will be flying down to Florida and driving it back. Roadtrip!
I found a picture of our current truck, but I think I need to be here longer to attach files to a post. Sadly, I do not have the photo hosted anywhere. Oh well, my time will come.
Welcome Bill! No, length of membership is not a qualification for posting pics, attachments are just not allowed. To post a pic, the url must come from an internet source such as Photobucket or even your album in your profile on this site. Just upload the pic to an album, then post the url using the second icon from the right above the posting box. looks like mountains with a yellow background. There is also detailed instructions in a sticky in the Questions About the Site forum.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I created an album here, and uploaded the only picture I have of our "current" truck, the 2005 XL -
This is somewhat of a "before" shot with the stock tires on the Expedition wheels (picked for ease of cleaning!). I replaced the stock rubber with General Grabber AT2 (LT265/70R17, IIRC). Our neighbor is interested in buying it. If not, then I will sell it locally. Here is a link to the 2007 SuperCrew I am getting (the lightbar is coming off) -
OK! First up is our 17yo son's project car. Jack and I bought a 1998 3.8L/5spd coupe that needed a bunch of work. Jack has his money and time invested in the car, that way once he got his license Mom and I felt he would end up taking better care of it. We are planning to perform a Thunderbird SuperCoupe motor/parts swap before spring. Here is a picture of Jack taken the first day he took it to a dragstrip (Thompson Raceway in OH) -
New up, some pictures of my 1985 SSP Mustang, which was one of 155 Mustangs ordered by the California Highway Patrol that year. My car is fully documented as being CHP #E408395. I had it repainted all-black so I can drive it, and I keep the emergency lights covered at all times while on the road -
This is my wife's daily driver, a 2005 4.0L/auto vert -
And then my daily driver (with a best ET of 12.89 @ 110mph; the only mod being GT500 mufflers) -
Thanks guys! There are so many great ideas on this site - I can see my wallet taking a major hit if I'm not careful.
It's already started. A 2" leveling kit just came in. En route is a Bakflip VP cover. A set of N-fab cab-length side steps have been ordered, which will be coated in Line-X to match the front brush guard. And I just got the bed coated in Line-X.
I figured that I would update this thread since so much has changed. All of the Mustangs posted have been sold (I still have the 66 coupe though). The 2007 SuperCrew was just traded-in on a new, left-over 2014 F150.
The second photo shows the Line-X that went in last week. A leveling kit will be installed on Wednesday. A bedcover will also be ordered this week as well. I liked the BAK VP cover, other then the fact the rear window got blocked when it was folded. I may go with something else this time around.
