1997 F-250-is it worth the hassle?

Hi. Someone's selling a 1997 F-250(straight body) 7.5L gas that has a little over 200,000mi. on it. Appears to be solid and running. I work construction often and would love to have a gas-hog truck like this. I'm also a full-time college student, so I don't have ample time or money to fix any problems (I assume are) down the road.

What parts should I prepare to replace soon? Hoses, ect. or are they going to be major and too expensive? Any suggestions?

Thanks, yash.

any vehicle with 200k+ miles, just plan on everything (brake system, trans, engine, diff)......you are running on borrowed time.

yes and no with beechkid. You are on borrowed time with the engine and trans. service teh differentials, ball joints, and check the brakes. I almost bought an 04 obs with 201k. needed a motor, but it had all new brakes, suspension, and was CLEAN! Its a gamble buying one with that many miles, not gonna lie. Then again we bought a 90 with 180k that needed a new body...
