Hi everyone. Been registered here for awhile but just never posted. In Nov I purchased a silver 04 reg cab STX. Unfortionataly a week before Christmas and before the first payment was due a passing oncoming truck/trailor decided to loose its load of scrap metal and a piece decided to damage everything from the air dam to the roof, busting out the windshield and cutting into the roof. Truck immediately went into the shop but been fighting their insurance ever since to get payment so Im nearly 4 weeks now without my new truck. The good news is the previously damaged front bumper is being repaired and Im getting a cowl induction hood. Im hoping to get it back end of this week or the beginning of next week if all goes well and Ill post pics then.

Well a little update on my truck and insurance situation. This is week number 6 since the accident and still have not received any payment from the other persons insurance company. They have repeatidly said that they have cut and mailed a check, yet I have recieved nothing even after threats of contacting a lawyer. I contacted them again this morning first thing and again they say its on the way. Now supposedly it might have been lost and they are gonna overnight a check to me so we'll see how this goes. The truck was fixed in a week and was ready to pick up by new years, so its been sitting waiting on payment since then. The body shop is calling me wanting their money and my truck out of their shop, and the insurance company wont answer or return their calls. And oh yeah, now they say the claims agent that was handling the case is no longer working there so I just have to talk to random people now to get it resolved. If I ever have another accident and the other person pulls out an Allstate insurance card Im immediately contacting a lawyer.

 

Well I got my truck back this afternoon! Allstate came thru and a check magically showed up via Fedex overnight this morning. Truck looks great. The Harwood cowl hood really makes it look like a different truck, and the 09+ badges look so much better than the old 04-08 emblems. Ill try to get some pics of it up tomorrow if its not raining.

 

Make sure to post some pictures of the hood -- I've been contemplating going with an aftermarket hood on mine one of these days......
