NEWBIE HERE! Looking to mod fast...
Hey guys, new to the f150 scene. Previous owner of 4 years of a heavily modded 2008 ford ranger fx4.. 4" superlift, 3" body lift and a whack of engine mods.
Just uploaded pics of the new f150 in my albums.
Upsized today to a beautiful 2008 ford f-150 xlt. I know the sparkplugs are a huge issue for these trucks so i made sure the dealership took care of those before i got it. Yes, i have the 5.4 triton. Any other horror stories about these engines i should be aware of?
Looking to mod up this thing quick.. so a few questions off the bat. whats the most preferred lift for 2004-2008 owners? Im looking to go with the 6". Fabtech seems to be very good or the Pro comp, what seems to be the general concensus?
Also, with a 6" lift, can i reuse my current coil spacer with that lift to gain even more or is that not recommended? I want to run 35's with this setup, how do these drivetrains and suspension components hold up with that big of a tire and should i think of regearing? I ran 35x12.5's with my 08 ranger with 4.56 gears and a 4.0 v6 and it held up fine other than the usual wearing down of the front hub assemblys because of oversized tires.
Thanks guys, ill keep searching the forums for more answers, just wanted to say hey and im excited to start learning.
Thanks,
Ryan

I know you have quite a bit of questions here, but I would encourage you to do some browsing first. There are folks there that will spend the maximum amount of money possible to mod out these trucks, some will be moderate, and others are penny pinchers. Your best option is to pick and choose.
The common theme is don't buy a cold air intake. Just mod your existing one.
If you still would like to lift your truck, hop on over to the Offroad forum.
Welcome.

As you can see, we're a pretty broad F-Series website and I'm nearly certain you can find just about any information that you may be seeking within our walls.
