Newb from IL

Well, I bit the bullet last week and ordered a 2013 FX4! I went with the 402a package, ecoboost, premium wheels, nav, and sunroof. I'm on the "other" f150 forum as well and saw members there talking about this sight so I figured I'd join up. Anyone know how long it takes before I get a vin? I was told to expect arrival in 4 weeks.
Cheers,
- Ed

Sounds like a real nice truck! and Welcome to the site.

Don't bet on a 4 week delivery. However, If a dealer has a F150 already ordered for stock, that is close to a new customer order, he some times is able to change the order for that customer and accelerate delivery time. Thats about the only way you could get a vehicle in 4 weeks. When a vehicle is scheduled to be build, serialization takes place. Could be a day or 2 weeks.

Thanks for the info Setchan! I can't wait to get the truck. I'm coming from a 12 second Trailblazer SS. I think I chose a good compromise as I wanted low end speed, more utility, and better fuel efficiency.

You will love the F-150. I'm on my third. I had a 09 Platinum, 11 Harley, and now the 13 King Ranch. Coming out of the Harley I didn't know how happy I would be with the EcoBoost but so far I am quite pleased. Since your into fast vehicles you will be pleased with the performance. I have a corvette ZR1 that makes me smile when it's go time and I'm getting smiles out of the EcoBoost plus the better fuel mileage.

Thanks for the welcome. I plan to payoff the truck within a year then get to a few mods. My go fast vehicle at the moment is a 2011 Harley v-rod muscle with a few mods. I'm a big vette fan myself. Can't wait to see the C7's. Did you see the new LT1?

The LT1 is a nice upgrade, but did you see in the video the twin turbo charged engine that was present? That's what I want to see. I had one C5 and three.C6's so I would venture to say there's a C7 in my future. Your V Rod is a great go fast vehicle. If I was going to get a bike that would be the one I would get.

From what I read the LT1 is going to be getting forced induction. Once my riding days are over I'm going vette.
