Hello All
Welcome to the Dark Side young Skywalker! LOL.
I just bought a 2003 7700 4X4 Supercab. Oil is being changed and complete detail over the weekend and I pick it up on Monday. Private sale from a mechanic who's family are all Ford people. It's a gray metallic truck with the 5.4 and an 8/10, not bad for a working farm truck. 216K kms (133K miles).
I'm pretty much ambivalent when it comes to brands having owned 15 or 20 trucks, vans and panel trucks over the last 35 years. I've driven two new F-150's at work since 2006, an '06 4.6 and the current one, an '08 5.4 XLT. The 4.6 never gave an ounce of power train trouble but constantly wore out rear brakes due to gravel getting stuck in the pads. The '08 does not pick up rocks in the brakes as often but it did require a factory replacement engine at 123K kms. I just like the looks of the Fords over any other brand and i especially like the 97-03 body style. Finding a 7700 series in nice shape only three miles from home was a real bonus after Kijiji'ing it for a month. Saved a trip to the city. Now we can upgrade from a tent trailer to a pull type camper and take the motorcycle along too.
