From Chevy to Ford
Hello all,
Nice to be here. A few weeks ago I purchased a 2004 F150 crew FX4. Beautiful truck that has been well taken care of had everything I wanted in a truck plus some. I traded a 2002 S-10 crew cab in on this truck Previous truck to the S-10 was a 94 Z-71. The Z-71 had 240,000 miles on it when I sold that truck. Ran good and strong. The S-10 had 110,000 miles on it. Ran good and strong. The crew has 172,000 miles on it. I was somewhat hesitant on the purchase of this truck due to the problems with the 5.4 Triton. I drove this truck several times and even went home to think about it which is something I never do. I finally decided to take the chance. Its been several weeks and so far so good. I replaced the alternator (which I knew was going bad) and I replaced the front rotors and pads. I was blown away by how clean this truck is underneath. It looks like new everywhere. An older gentleman owned it and he obviously took care of it. I am still somewhat leary of the 5.4. The Z-71 had a 350 in it and was the old reliable. I want this truck to have my same trust. I do know that the 5.4 isn't as quiet of a running engine as the 350, but I suppose that is normal. We will see
