Another new guy from DFW area

Hi y'all,

I've been researching lowering our F-150 4x4, yeah I know all kind of thoughts on this but I have good reason, and this forum seems to be one of the most active, so here I am.

I am in a wheelchair from a motorcycle wreck, well I got run over sitting at a red light, so my DD is a modified ramp minivan(from a Harley to a minivan, oh the humanity) we bought our truck to replace my wife's suv and to haul our bass boat better. I had F-150 before my wreck so stuck with 'em. We bought a 4x4 because I get in the boat before we get in the water and my wife backs us in and she is more comfortable having 4x4 on some ramps.

I bought a lift that gets me from floorboard to seat level but it doesn't quite come to floorboard so the seat is 2-3" too high for an easy transfer in. SO, I now want to lower the truck. We both like the look of a lean level truck anyway.

Since it's my wife's truck, it's loaded of course,

From one new guy to another welcome, sorry to hear about the motorcycle accident, it drives me crazy the lack of attention and respect that some motorists have for motorcycle riders

Welcome to this forum.
A coworker got run over, while sitting at a red light as well. Was in a coma for 8 month. Is walking now, but mentally...he's not the same...
Sorry about it happening to you too.

Welcome to the forums. I'm local DFW too

Most of us lowered guys hang out down in Street Scene section.

I'd recommend a 2/4 drop which would consist of 2wd struts, remove 4x4 lift block, and install 2" drop shackle. Would be the cheapest route, and ride very similar to a factory truck.

Thanks for the welcome y'all,

Appreciate the thoughts on my injury too, it does suck, 26 years of bike riding and dodging cars, to get wiped out sittin' still. But, been almost 9 years so kinda used to it. Setchan, I will take not walking and good mental, sorry about your co-worker.

Patman, that is kind of what I was thinking on 2/4, should get me the distance I need and not sacrifice anything. Since you're local, do you know of a good shop I could get a hold of?

Thanks all.

You might check status in Rockwall, I know there is a thread on here for a king ranch with full air suspension that they built. I don't have any personal dealings with them but it's the only shop I know of east of Dallas. Might be worth a call?

Thanks Shadowstabber, that was the website I was trying to find, the path I took, took me to an expired domain name page. weird.

That is an awesome KR, man that was a lot of work. I think I have myself getting taken care of though.

Thanks PawPaw, glad to be here.
