Hello Everybody

Hey guys I basically joined to get some input on what is needed to build a badass off road f150. I have a stock 98 with the 5.4 and 4x4.

My dd is a 72 chevelle and I drag race a 2001 trans am. Most of the drag strips are 1/8th mile around here but I have been thinking about switching to off-roading since you can have fun off the black top. The 98 has sort of been a family truck. My dad bought it new and it only has 43,xxx miles. It rarely gets driven.

My dad has been in the car business his whole life. He opened up his own lot 22 years ago and it's still going strong. We are car people and we want to get a new motor for the trans am (it's got a bad rod bearing), but I was wondering what it takes to make a badass f150. I basically want to do suspension and some chassis while spending as little as possible. I know prerunners aren't cheap and guys spend hundreds of thousands, but I want to be able to drive fast and hard wherever I go.

-Hoping to maintain stock motor
-Thinking about some "baja" suspension
-Want the F150 to be jump worthy

Completely new to off-roading, but wanting to give it a try. Thanks!
