Howdy from MS!

Found this forum while looking for a fix for my "New" 99' F-150. Thought I would share this rescue'd truck. Father sold it to my Brother in-law in 2008 for a song and a dance, and $200 a month payments. He abused it, ran it with no oil, killed the engine, and the truck sat for almost 3 years.
Finally was told if I put an engine in it then I could have it, since he was tired of seeing it rot on the hill.
$2300 dollars, and a used 5.4L later she's up an running. Polished the rims, wash it 4 times to clean all the mold growing on it. Polished the headlights, fixed the door ajar problem (thanks to this forum), re-attached the rear-view mirror, fixed the bed liner, and numerous other small fixes. Many more fixes to come, but now it runs and drives great.
Here's a pic to show you what somebody basically threw away. Not bad for a $2300 truck eh?

162,000 miles on the truck. The 5.4L came out of a wrecked Expedition and had 97,000 miles on it. I got it with a 6 month warranty for $1250, and my mechanic said it was super clean inside and out. $1000 to pull the old, and slap in the new. He had to fab a few parts as well since a few engine accessories are a little different between the two vehicles. You could probably tell but it is a 4x4 as well, captains chairs, all leather interior, factory 8 disc cd-changer etc. Was a loaded truck when new.
