Hello everyone. Newbie here, but not newbie to F150s or to car forums. Winding down on my white 1997 XLT S/C 4x4 with 133,000 miles. I have had since new in March of 1996. Has some issues that I don’t wish to deal with. Just bought a used replacement 43,000 miles 2006 XLT S/C 4x4 in dark blue.
I am already finding this site helpful. Have diagnosed a BCM issue in the 1997, been through the tutorial for LED replacements for the interior in the 2006, and found out what the mysterious black box was behind the rear view mirror. Yes, the search function is a wonderful thing.
On the 06, I am looking forward to re-doing the interior lighting. I am also working on dressing up my boring chrome five spokes wheels with some very durable chrome and color matched urethane inserts. I have already replaced the defective “Ford” oval on the front grill with a different design OEM one, started detailing areas, and cleaned the tonneau cover and running boards.
Looking forward to continued use of this forum.
