seats

well I jusy got off the phone with Ford, I just had one of my 60/40 split back seats recovered through warranty for a rip in the seat, ends up the material doesn''t match as far as texture around the border it is even a little darker, anyway I complained to Ford about it and they just got back to me saying there is nothing they can do the material provider has changed for Ford or something like that ....blah..blah...blah.

Still a ford fan but frustrasted as to why they would change material, I have a 2002 supercab styleside and you would think they would keep stuff the same for the production year at least.

Try to find your local auto ulpholstery supply, they sell matching fabric you can have a seat cover made from. I bet Ford will continue to stonewall you, so you'd probably have to pay for it yourself. Wouldn't cost a mint to do, just not cheap. I'd say it could possibly be done for under $150??,,,,98

got new leather covers for my truck on ebay for 312.00 mabye this could be an option for you. The covers did require the seats to be removed and disasembled on order to slip the new covers on them

that is b.s. there is some kind of law that says companies must keep producing or have in stock parts for atleast 10 years after production of the product. complain more, talk to the manager. don't let this die that easy!! they just don't want to replace the seat! you are the customer, be satisfied!!

That is right. It was not your fault that the seat was defective. If fords supplier has changed then they will have to replace everthing to match. I don't think that any small claims court would find that it be unreasonable that in order to fix the rip in the defective seat they should also make sure that the seats are the same. Under fords logic if your seat was gray and they no longer offered gray the could replace the defective seat with a red one. I think that it is obvious what ford should do.

about to get my passenger seat fixed under warranty as well. Already has a thin spot on outer edge.
