Carbon fiber dash kits.....
Carbon fiber dash kits.....
Can anyone steer me in the direction of a good carbon fiber dash kit for my 99 F150 XLT 2 X 4.
I did a simple search and came up with tons of stuff........and naturally I know not all of it will be good. I orderd a carbon fiber gauge surround from procarparts.com and am a little less than pleased with the fit. the finish looks good though.
ANyway, just looking for a good fitting carbon fiber kit. I'm not sure how much I want to do.....but I want the dash to stand out. Thanks.

Plus it is disheartening when they advertise for 97+ F150 and it obviously will only fit 4 door trucks. Makes you wonder what exactly you will get.
I did find a guy in Tampa, FL who sells replacement plastic parts that are dipped in carbon fiber. I think it's called photogenesis (I can't recall the link to the place). Anyway, he sends these pieces off, has them treated/dipped and they look just like carbon fiber only they are replacement plastic........no stick on. It's real slick...like powdercoating for plastic.
He sells a 9 piece set for $450 w/ a core charge though. $700 without. Yikes. Pricey, but the look is killer.
here is the link

Yeah, I've heard good things about the work Rich does -- plus he can do other things besides wood, carbon fiber and "aluminum." I've been in contact with him about something with a black brushed alum look. From what I've heard, he's the way to go if you want the best fit/finish. It's just a bit more costly.
Thanks, guys.
This stuff really is the best you'll find. Not much more than the stick-on kits, but the look is really custom. The kits are made from original Ford interior parts so the fit is perfect.
When only the best will do...
