Does anyone know if I could take out the center console (between the captains chairs) in my F150 Sport 4 x 4 so that I could possibly put a seat there on a temporary basis for a child??

 

Yes you can put a seat there. I have considered doing that mod but decided I like my captains chairs and the big console to hide stuff in. Plus, I usually don't have to worry about driving anywhere when we go out with friends. Saves for a lot of wear and tear.

I think it's Steelhorse who makes an add-on seat. You will need to find the proper location to install a third seat belt. You might get lucky and find a seat that the seat belt is bolted to the seat bracket making the job much easier. Have you thought about pulling a bench seat from a wrecked truck with the same color interior.
